Webster certified chiropractor providing a gentle pelvic adjustment to a pregnant patient in Arnold, MO

Two Webster certified chiropractors, just south of St. Louis

If you have been told to find a Webster certified chiropractor, you are in the right place. Both Dr. Amy Horn and Dr. Caitlin Cross hold Webster certification through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, and we are at 1804 Jeffco Blvd in Arnold, roughly 25 minutes south of downtown St. Louis.

That “both” matters more than it sounds. At a lot of practices one doctor is certified and the rest are not, which means the appointment you can actually get may not be with the person you looked up. Here, whoever you see is Webster certified.

Usually people land on this page for one of three reasons. A midwife, doula or OB told you to find someone Webster certified. You found out your baby is breech and started searching fast. Or you are pregnant, uncomfortable, and you have read enough to know you want someone with real prenatal training rather than a general chiropractor who will do their best.

All three are good reasons. Here is what the credential actually means, and how to check it on anyone, including us.

What does it mean for a chiropractor to be Webster certified?

Webster certification means a chiropractor has completed the ICPA’s specific training program in the Webster Technique, an assessment and gentle adjustment of the sacrum and pelvis developed for pregnancy.

The important part: it is a prenatal specific credential. A chiropractic degree alone does not cover it. Certification involves dedicated coursework plus a practical component, and it is awarded and tracked by the ICPA, the organisation Dr. Larry Webster founded and which still oversees the technique today.

You can read more about what the technique involves and what a visit looks like.

Why the credential is worth caring about

Pregnancy is not just general chiropractic on a patient who happens to be pregnant. A few reasons that is true:

A chiropractor without prenatal training might be very good at what they do and still not be the right fit for your third trimester. Asking about certification is not rude. It is the sensible question.

How to verify a chiropractor is really Webster certified

Anyone can write “Webster” on a website. Here is how to actually check, on us or on anyone else.

For the record: Dr. Amy Horn and Dr. Caitlin Cross are both Webster certified through the ICPA. Dr. Cross also holds the CACCP, an advanced ICPA credential in paediatric and prenatal care. Ask us at your visit and we will show you.

What we use Webster certification for

Being certified is the starting point, not the service. In practice, prenatal patients come to us with:

Webster sits inside our wider prenatal chiropractic care, and depending on what is going on we may also use craniosacral therapy, nutritional support or acupuncture. We are happy to work alongside your OB, midwife or doula, and we would rather coordinate with your birth team than around them.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does it mean for a chiropractor to be Webster certified?

It means the chiropractor has completed the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association’s training in the Webster Technique, a specific assessment and gentle adjustment of the sacrum and pelvis for pregnancy. It is a prenatal specific credential that a general chiropractic degree does not include. Both Dr. Amy Horn and Dr. Caitlin Cross are Webster certified through the ICPA.

The ICPA maintains a public directory of certified chiropractors at icpa4kids.com that you can search by location. If you are in Arnold, south St. Louis County or Jefferson County, both doctors at Abundant Health Chiropractic are Webster certified. Call (636) 296-8123.

Check the ICPA directory, and ask them directly what year they completed certification. Be careful with phrases like “Webster informed” or “we use Webster principles,” which are not the same as being certified. If a practice has multiple doctors, also ask whether the specific doctor you are booked with is certified.

No, though they often go together. Webster certification is specific to prenatal care and pelvic balance during pregnancy. The CACCP is a separate, broader ICPA credential covering paediatric and prenatal care. Dr. Caitlin Cross holds both.

No, you do not need a referral to come see us. Many of our prenatal patients are referred by midwives, doulas and OBs, and we are glad to coordinate with your birth team, but you can book directly.

Yes. Dr. Amy Horn and Dr. Caitlin Cross are both Webster certified through the ICPA, so whichever doctor you see has prenatal specific training.

It varies quite a bit by plan. Call us at (636) 296-8123 and we will help you work out your coverage before your first visit, so there are no surprises.

If your baby is breech and you are running out of time

Call us at (636) 296-8123 rather than filling in a form. If you are past 35 weeks we will get you in as soon as we can, and we will be straight with you about what is realistic in the time you have. We would rather tell you honestly than take a booking we do not think will help.
