Real answers to the questions every parent asks before their first visit. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, call us, we’re happy to talk it through.
Neurologically-focused chiropractic goes beyond treating back pain. It examines the nervous system, the brain, spinal cord, and nerve pathways, to identify interference that may be affecting your child’s overall health. The nervous system controls everything: sleep, digestion, immunity, behavior, and development. When there’s interference in that system, it can show up in all kinds of ways that seem unrelated to the spine. We use advanced INSiGHT scanning technology to identify and measure that interference objectively, then address it with specific, gentle chiropractic adjustments.
INSiGHT scans are neurological assessments that measure how well your child’s nervous system is functioning. They include thermal scanning, surface EMG, and heart rate variability. They are completely non-invasive, painless, and take just a few minutes. They give us, and you, an objective, visual picture of what’s happening beneath the surface. We use them at the first visit to establish a baseline, and then periodically throughout care to track progress.
A general chiropractor often focuses primarily on musculoskeletal pain, back pain, neck pain, headaches. We specialize in the relationship between the nervous system, the spine, and the body’s ability to function optimally, especially in infants, children, and pregnant women. Our doctors are trained and certified through the ICPA, and our practice is a member of the elite PX Docs network. We also use advanced neurological scanning technology that most general chiropractic offices don’t offer.
It depends on your child’s history, how long the nervous system has been under stress, and how their body responds to care. Some families notice changes, better sleep, calmer behavior, improved digestion, within the first few visits. For children with longer-standing challenges, meaningful shifts may take several weeks of consistent care. Your doctor will set honest expectations at your report of findings and will track your child’s progress at every visit.

Yes, when performed by a trained, experienced pediatric chiropractor, chiropractic care is extremely safe for babies, including newborns. The force used on an infant is nothing like what’s used for an adult. We’re talking about the gentle pressure of a fingertip, no cracking, no twisting, no sudden movements. Our doctors have extensive specialized training in infant and pediatric care, and Dr. Caitlin Cross holds the CACCP, the highest pediatric chiropractic certification available.
Newborns can receive chiropractic care within days of birth. In fact, many parents choose to have their baby checked shortly after birth, especially following a difficult labor, forceps or vacuum delivery, or C-section, all of which can place significant stress on a newborn’s spine and nervous system.
We work with children experiencing a wide range of challenges, including:
We are not claiming to “treat” or “cure” these conditions. What we do is identify and address nervous system interference, and when the nervous system is freed up to function properly, the body often resolves many of these challenges on its own.
For infants and young children, chiropractic adjustments are extraordinarily gentle and should not be painful. Most babies sleep right through them. For older children, adjustments are also gentle and specifically adapted to their size, age, and development.
Because those providers are looking at different things. What we assess, nervous system interference at the level of the spine, and how that interference affects the body’s ability to self-regulate, is often not evaluated by any of those specialists. Many families find that chiropractic care doesn’t replace those other providers; it complements them by addressing a piece of the puzzle that was previously overlooked.
Yes. Chiropractic care is safe throughout all three trimesters of pregnancy when performed by a trained provider. Our doctors use specialized tables designed to accommodate a growing belly and techniques that are specifically adapted for pregnancy. Our doctors are Webster Technique certified, a method specifically developed for pregnant patients.
The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment method developed for use during pregnancy. It focuses on the sacrum and pelvis, helping to establish balance and alignment that reduces tension in the surrounding muscles and ligaments. This can create more space for the baby, support optimal fetal positioning, and contribute to a more comfortable pregnancy and labor.
The Webster Technique is often sought by moms whose babies are in a breech or suboptimal position. While chiropractic does not “turn” the baby directly, by reducing tension and imbalance in the pelvis and surrounding structures, it may create an environment where the baby can naturally move into an optimal position. We recommend starting care as early as possible.
Ideally, as early as possible, even in the first trimester. That said, it’s never too late to start. We see moms at 36 to 38 weeks who are preparing for birth, and even a few visits can make a meaningful difference.
The postpartum period is a significant physical event for a mother’s body. Postpartum chiropractic care helps restore alignment, supports recovery, and can play a meaningful role in managing postpartum hormonal shifts, breastfeeding discomfort, and mood regulation. We also offer craniosacral therapy through Dr. Horn, which is particularly effective for postpartum recovery.
